Wow, what a blast from the past. RAF_Polon was one of the original group of RAF662 members, hailing from Japan. One of the best combat pilots we had.

S! All and Aero.
(Sorry I am Japasese so my English is not very good)
I am back today.(2018.08.29 Japan time)
Today I have installed DCS. and I boarded the TF - 15 to fly. But I can’t take off before that. lol
I crashed many times on the runway.
I had managed to take off and landing somehow.
I have not grab a joystick for 15 years, so now I have only candidate skills.
And I don't know information about DCS.
So please tell me, What kind of model should I purchase or setting to fly or For example, do I need a cold start?
I am looking for meet all of you in battle area.

Polon! S!

Welcome back to the ranks of active pilots. :D

There's a lot of info on DCS in the Delta Squad forum. RAF_Raven and RAF_DaddyO are the most active and most informed of us in DCS. I highly recommend sending PM to both of them if you need specific help, they're sure to respond.

Our server runs the Normandy map, so most of us are flying WWII aircraft. Some, like Noodlehead, are messing around with modern planes like the Harrier, although I don't know that there's a lot of that going on in co-op mode.

Unfortunately the IL-2 community is rather fragmented, and not the heavily populated, robust place it once was. But DCS has signs of life and positive momentum, and hopefully we'll have enough people flying there to make it worthwhile. Raven and DaddyO in particular have done a LOT of work to make our Normandy server the best in the community, and it's generating a following. I pop in from time to time, but will admit I'm not in very often.

Cheers!

Grit! S!
I appreciate your information.

My ability as a pilot has reached the ability that is able to shoot down an AI plane (by Bf-1094K, P-51D, Spifire in the DCS would).
However, they always do the same movements, so I think, if I try multiplay, I can't get win from human pilot. lol.
I look forward to that I can fly with Raven and DaddyO.
But before that, I would like to learn the minimum necessary capabilities such as engine start and takeoff and landing.

To Raven and DaddyO,
I will contact you to play coop or multi.
and I will ask you a lot.

Thank a lot Grit!
