DCS World WWII AI AC, mod swapper

Postby RAF_DaddyO » Mon Oct 31, 2016 12:40 am

S!

DCS B17g, P38d, DC3 and PBY5,!! Putting a sticky here so they are easy to get!

Hi guys.... a downloadable JSGME Mod Swapper package containing these 4 beauties, can be had on our downloads site at:
(guest login: guest, pwd: guest) will allow you to download the mod swapper package ;-).

http://www.raf662.org/kloudspeaker/inde ... 43128e5fe5

Please follow the instructions in the _README.txt file inside this zip file for instructions on how to setup JSGME for DCS world to allow you to swap in/out these AC using the JSGME Mod Swapper.
This makes it dead easy to play with these AC (breaking integrity check), and then shut down, swap out, start up and play without them (thus good on integrity check)!

PS - if you know how to use JSGME from IL2 is the same thing!, just enabled inside DCS world folder.
PPS - if you know how JSGME works, you can also add other mods to it once you put it into the DCS folder, there, to enable other things in DCS world!

Enjoy!
DDO.

NP, any questions, post up and let me know. read the _readme.txt file in the zip for instructions on how to setup. Its kinda spiffy, you can have a JSGME mod swapper for DCS to swap in and out mods like these AI Aircraft. Just be sure to follow the same usage pattern as the JSGME from IL2 - its the same utility. ie. Shut down DCS, swap in/out given mods using JSGME tool, startup DCS again.

Also, they recommend that if you launch DCS, and it automatically prompts you to apply an update, that you first cancel that, swap out your mods, then start again and let DCS apply its updates. The reason for this, is that an update might mess up one of your mods, if it happens to write into the mods folder. Doing above just protects from that.

Ps - all the mods are addded into a sub folder apart from the main game executable files, so, mods seem fairly safe in DCS from corrupting your game files... AC mods at least are resident in a separate folder, and DCS seems to keep Mods a safe distance away from the main game files.

PPS - hint: never hurts to take a backup of the main DCS folder to external disk once in a while too! ;-)
