That's sweet.

I like the flaming RAF roundel. Kind of the perfect metaphor for my usual state in IL-2

(and World of Tanks, for that matter). :o

Nice work, Raven! :RAFSalute:

So I've started experimenting with car skins, but am having difficulty deciphering the helmet skin.

The left, right, front and back image are easy enough to figure out in the skin template.
But I can't figure out what the part is on the left, between the right-side and back views (the all-red irregular octagon here):

Is that the helmet top view? And if so, where is the front? The flat part on top?

Help?

Ah, helpful as always, Raven. :salute:

I haven't tried CMX Viewer, simply because I have Photoshop on my Mac, and CMX Viewer runs on PC. By the time I've taken the trouble to port something over to the PC, I just fire up Live for Speed and view it in game. But I will give it a whirl.

I did notice in replays that the game does map your real TrackIR head movements (evidenced by my emphatic side-to-side head movements signaling, "no No NO NOOO! as I overshoot the corner for the umpteenth time). That's kinda cool.

So I found a driving suit skin, and made it, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it appear in game?

I think it won't download to others, since it's not really visible, so it's only for me. But it must work or why would people bother to have built templates and skins?

Anyone have any idea how the naming convention works, and how to install?

S!

I know you have to upload car and helmet skins to your profile on lfs.net to have them availible for other players to see
I'm not sure about suits.

Try https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/27546- ... love-Skins

I managed to upload car and helmet skins, but haven't figured out the naming convention for driving suits.

The suits don't download to others, just helmets and cars. But you can apparently do a suit so it's visible to yourself—I just haven't figured out the naming convention. I imagine once that's figured out it works just like the helmet and car skins; you put them in the Skins folder and the game converts them to dds files and adds to them to the Skins_dds folder where the game finds them.
